“Annabelle”
Her name came soft and sweet
Like a warm day filled with sunshine
Washed linen
Drying in its heat
Movement is slowed down
Sounds are only a tranquil song playing
Switching scenes to surroundings
Wheat grows tall
Flowers, bright
The wind blows, as
My hand caress the tall grass
Smile on my face
Eyes closed
The dance is so sweet
The wind mixes with my being
It moves as freely as my soul feels
Together, intertwining
Mingling with each other, in such
A loving way
As if to say,
“It’s okay, let go”
Spinning gently into Mother Natures
Tunes of delight, weightless, intriguing energy-
I am one with her
She appears to me
At moments as these, in my dreams, that
Sometimes even turn sour
Into nightmares
Nightmares that I’ll never share
For fear of birthing the nerve
Into the air
Back to black
The simplicity of black and white
That she colors into bursting colors
Vibrant enough to cause my eyes to close
And so, I dance with the wind
It lifts my arms
My eyes closed
Smile still exposed
The music is slowed
And the feeling it beautiful
Annabelle
