A thin line between sink and swim

I had a dream where running through a curve, I turned right with it but my car went left off road, over a wall and into a lake. My seat pushed forward, my chest on the steering wheel, I could not move my arms. No self defense, stuck restrained from the crash into water that felt like pavement, head in I went with the little car-all bent. No way to break the windows to freedom. Shatters from the windshield poured water in as the remaining thoughts in my head were, “this is it, there is no way out, I am going to die”. I remember exactly the look in my eyes, the clenching of my teeth. My squirming lips, fingers griping the wheel.
And then, I wake up.
